I started CrossFit in an attempt to support a friend who wanted to go… I had no idea what I was getting into! I slowly converted more and more of my free time into CrossFit/gym time until my wife graciously agreed to support me in an attempt to open one of our own. In the short time we’ve been open, I have been so blessed by the support of family and friends, the responses from athletes and members, and the experiences provided by running our own business. CrossFit has changed my life and made fitness/athletic potential something that I can once again strive for in my adult life. I couldn’t be happier to provide that opportunity.

Started doing CrossFit in 2012 to get in shape for Jiu Jitsu, during which I became obsessed. I turned my garage into a gym and worked towards mastering each movement. Along the way I taught friends/family (pretty much anyone that would listen). Then I realized I’d love to take it a step further and coach at a box. So I got my L1 and here we are. 🙂

CrossFit Level 1 Certification

My CrossFit journey began in January 2015. I was bored with my every other day upper-body and lower-body workouts. Within my first CrossFit workout, I was hooked (maybe it was the overhead squats, maybe is was the 100 burpees). CrossFit just seemed to meet all my needs; I loved the community, the competitiveness, not having to plan what to do (not to mention how it was the first time I have actually felt stronger and noticed changes in my body). As others have experienced, CrossFit literally changed my life. It has empowered me to be more, do more, and want more (both in and out of the gym). It has been my happy place in times of stress and despair. For these reasons and more, I wanted to become a coach. I love learning about CrossFit, helping others become strong and empowered, and seeing the growth every individual is capable of every time they walk through the door.

I played sports most of my life and have had a passion for health and fitness for as long as I can remember.  I started CrossFit in December 2015 when Skopos opened and I fell in love with it shortly thereafter.  I was stuck between two thoughts on my first day.  I knew I would love CrossFit but I was so nervous.  In fact, I sat in my car on my first day and called my sister for a pep talk to get me inside!  I’m glad I got out of my own way, because now not only am I a better version of myself, both physically and mentally, but I also get to help others realize their own greatness through coaching.  I believe every person that walks through the door has great potential just waiting to be tapped.  If you show up, do the work, and be consistent you will see results.  I look forward to working with you to become the best version of yourself.  See you at the bar(bell)!

I first realized I enjoyed coaching as an athlete in track and field. I found myself helping my teammates become better athletes while I was trying to improve as an athlete. As I got more involved in Crossfit, I realized I enjoyed helping other athletes develop. This is why I got involved in coaching at Skopos.
