Growing up I was a 3 sport athlete playing soccer, basketball, and softball in high school. Since then I have played numerous other sports, and I have yet to find a sport I don't enjoy. I also love spending time being active outdoors. My CrossFit journey began in January 2015. I was bored with my every other day upper-body and lower-body workouts. Within my first CrossFit workout, I was hooked (maybe it was the overhead squats, maybe is was the 100 burpees). CrossFit just seemed to meet all my needs; I loved the community, the competitiveness, not having to plan what to do (not to mention how it was the first time I have actually felt stronger and noticed changes in my body). As others have experienced, CrossFit literally changed my life. It has empowered me to be more, do more, and want more (both in and out of the gym). It has been my happy place in times of stress and despair. For these reasons and more, I wanted to become a coach. I love learning about CrossFit, helping others become strong and empowered, and seeing the growth every individual is capable of every time they walk through the door.
